Well, I had plans to make all 6 bowls. I really did. But this month went by way too fast for me to finish. Plus, the hurricane threw everything off for me. However, when I signed up, I said I would post what I had completed no matter how incomplete or messed up it got. So, here it goes.

I even made a mask to go with my Halloween costume, which was the mid month challenge.

I wanted to share a few photos of my progress with Alycia at the Curious Pug's monthly crochet-along.

I hate to admit that I have been stuck at the halfway point since last week, but I am. I think I will finish though...whenever I finish a bowl, I feel a small sense of accomplishment.

Alycia also challenged us to complete a mid-month project. Check out her post to see the example that I am excited about. I may even incorporate it into my Halloween costume.

I have been visiting family since Thursday and it has been so nice to come back and relax. All I have to think about is seeing family and not worry about work or any other responsibilities.

The flights over were not too bad. There was some turbulence but overall they were pleasant flights. I was impressed with how much leg room I had on one of them. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed riding escalators and moving walkways, too.
The time on all the public transit also let me begin working on Alycia at the Curious Pug's Crochet-Along project. They are nesting bowls; I'm supposed to be crocheting them in rainbow colors, but as my yarn collection lacks most of the rainbow, I'm just going to crochet with what I have.

It's been a while since I posted about crochet. I had bought yarn earlier this summer to make an amigurumi koala bear and there the skeins sat in the Michael's bag all summer.

I decided that I would get into crochet again when Alycia from the Curious Pug posted about a crochet-a-long of sorts. Each month, participants can vote on which pattern to make during the month and then write subsequent posts showing our work that we link up. What I especially like about it is that there is no pressure to have it perfect, so if the project turns into a mess, we can still show it and ask others for help on where we went wrong. I completed my amigurumi giraffe this week. I'm so proud! It may look a little frowny, but it's cute at the same time.

The latest in the line of NY scarves--I heart NYC. Enjoy it for Valentine's Day or if you just enjoy the color pink. 100 percent acrylic and vegan friendly.

I made another pair of booties this week. I found this fabric when I purchased the fabric for the tree skirt and I just had to get some! I have a feeling that I will be making a few more pairs because it is just too cute. These little monsters will hopefully ward off those that typically live in closets. Safe, cute and warm. I have a couple other newer postings as well, including the Bianca scarf (a white version of the Brooklyn) and an upcycled polish star ornament.



Tater Tot has been a cuddlebug as of late. I think most of it has to do with the change in weather, but it could also be that she is at a point where she feels more comfortable with us. She has been snoozing in sleeping bags, on top of our coats, underneath the covers and anywhere she can get. I had extra fabric from the tree skirt and decided to make her a dog blanket. Now she is cuddled-up on the couch, wrapped in a sleeping bag and dog blanket. I need to take photos yet and when I do, I will post them.

Last weekend, we went to a local coffee shop to spend some time. I sewed on the appendages to the giraffe. Just the eyes, nose, spots and clean-up to go before she is completed.

During our trip to NYC and Brooklyn a couple of weekends ago, I started work on a new, thinner scarf. Here are a few photos of it. Tater was also a good sport and let me try it on her as well. How good it is to have pet pals!

I listed a new scarf today. It is made of two kinds of fibers, one is bamboo and the other is a mystery. I love searching through the odds 'n' ends bins at craft stores and the mystery fiber is the one that I came out with. It is a small gauge, so I twisted three of them together to be roughly the same thickness as the bamboo (grey) fibers. Check out the listing here.

The horns, ears and one arm are attached. I have three more limbs and a face to attach, as well as tuck in all of the loose ends. I am so excited that I can finally read a crochet pattern!

This is the progress on the amigurumi giraffe so far. The body is complete (with no eyes, nose or horns yet) and I have started one of the legs.
