photo challenge: toy

I don't buy rawhides for Tater very often. For one thing, they leave white marks everywhere that she slobbers on them. For another, she will chew them until they are gone, which leaves her digestive system pretty backed up for a day or two. Today I decided to buy her a couple and it was pretty adorable to see her try to bury the "bone" in the couch, floor and closet. She didn't really become interested in chewing it until I started taking photos of her with it. Go figure. I linked up with the Paper Mama's photo challenge for the week--Toys. Enter yourself!
I know that it is not even October yet, but as I plan to make the majority of my gifts for others this year, I have been thinking about Christmas. However, there are some things that I do not know how to make and so I like to "window-shop" while online. I had found the blog the Curious Pug through YB+YB and quickly fell in love as she walked her readers through her crafts, dog and a shop she was soon to open. The online shop opened on Labor Day and is called Happy Sprout Pet Boutique. You can see her ad proudly displayed on the right of my blog under "Affiliates". Click over when you get the chance; you won't be disappointed! My favorite item? This sweater right here:
Look at that happy face!

Hello again, here I am doing screenshots of my ad. Do you spot it? Love this lady's lifestyle blog.

I wanted to write more this week; I really did. I helped Ryan move to NYC this week and then my hard drive ran out of space for me to download my pictures. Later today I hope to move some stuff over to my external and then I'll be able to download and upload new photos for you all. You will be able to see how tiny Ryan's apartment is and how much NYC rocks.

Let me tell you about the ads I took out this month! That's right--plural ad! The first is on Manzanita, a blog written by Rebecca. She has great DIYs (her latest is captured in the screen shot), stories and sponsors.

Next up is Yellow Bird, Yellow Beard. They recently moved to my area, so seeing their posts makes me smile and remember my journey over here. They have a cute shop, too. I first started reading their blog when Oh, Hello Friend hosted a shop giveaway and I have been reading along ever since.
You may have noticed that my blog look keeps changing...I haven't settled on something that I quite like just yet. Please be patient with me while I continue to find my final result.

I will be a little absent from my blog this week. I hope to write again this weekend. I hope that everyone enjoys a Happy 4th of July in the meantime.

It's June 1st! I can hardly believe it. It seems like May just started and as I look over the past month's events it seems like they just happened. Wow. Along with June, I purchased some adspace over at Nicole's blog, Pussy Cat Vintage. Check out my ad in this screen shot in the top right corner. More great things are coming this month while Nicole and I work together. I am looking forward to the rest of the month.

Somehow I get the feeling that I'm going about this ad thing all wrong...making screenshots of other people's blogs and ads and then writing about them when it's actually the other way around. Oh well! It makes me really excited to see my stuff up in other places and so I'll post about it until I get sick of it.

Still being a new store blog writer (I have years and years of personal writing), I feel like I muddle my way through sometimes. It is fun to write, but I don't always feel like it. Do I buy advertising? Do I not? Do I have giveaways? What do I write next? Well, this weekend I have been bitten by the advertising bug and decided to go for it. I decided that I would buy some ad space on some of my fave blogs, as well as set up Google AdWords.

See that yellow t&e? That's my ad!
I started with thePaperMama. I mean, how could I not? She has this incredibly cute daughter, fun DIYs, donations for causes and great posts about her everyday life. Other bloggers...don't worry, I have plans to buy space from you too! She was the first I followed, so I felt like I should get space there first. I enjoy reading through my Google Reader List every day and look forward to making some more blog friends.

Then I decided to take Google up on their $100 in free advertising. I setup my text ads yesterday and I am set for the month. I have liked Google products from the start, so it just made sense for me to try them out. I am not yet sure what I will do when the $100 runs out, but what I do know is that I will continue to contribute to other blogs.

How did you decide what you would do with your blog?
