baskets

One of the things that completely slipped my mind to post about before Easter was that I made some mini baskets. In the future, I hope to make more large baskets to sell, like the one I made for my boyfriend's niece for Christmas. For now, I have these gift baskets to fill with mini treasures for others.

I wanted to share with you guys some of my shop goodies as of late.

hand-stamped jersey infinity scarf
a work in progress, but will be listed soon
star banner
heart banner
upcycled sky blue cowl
hand-stamped and naturally dyed tea towel, 28" x 28"
I worked at my packaging style a bit over the last few weeks.
I am very pleased with how this turned out. I love the winter embellishments
on the top of the kraft paper.
As I was packaging another order for shipment tonight, I realized that I am
definitely still in love with my cards from Moo.
I cannot wait to show you a few more projects I am working on and I also have an exciting discount code to share earlier next week. I think every day is small business day; however, I do like that there is a special day for small businesses coming up next weekend and I wanted to treat you guys to a little something.

September

A package arrived for me this morning. I had been waiting to purchase an item from Leah Duncan for a long time; so long I almost forgot until she updated her blog with a discount code.  (I love sales!)
This is one of my favorite patterns from her in the form of a tea towel. It is so beautiful and I'm glad it is finally here.
When I got home from work yesterday, I took Tater and walked her over to the Farmer's Market. I still had some veggies left from the last time I went and today I combined a couple ingredients (yukon gold potatoes and rainbow chard) into a curry. The taste was both sweet and savory--my favorite. I also enjoy investing my money locally whenever possible. The Farmer's Market is a great chance to do that.

The weather is actually in the 70s now and I'm starting to think about Fall. Autumn is my favorite season; the crisp air, layered clothing and the holidays. Although I can hardly believe that it is already September, I am glad that it is here. The heat has been too much for me this summer.

Remember the scarf exchange that I signed up for? Well, I wanted to share my inspiration for it.

I am looking forward to sharing the final results with you guys!

And finally, my sleepy morning photo of Tater made it in Chelsey's top 5 this week. Thanks!

hi, my name is Emily and I'm addicted to washi tape

As if I needed more excuses to buy cute washi tape and more packaging supplies, the Plaid Barn came out with these awesome sets today.

Aren't they cute?!

You can buy a chevron set or a polka dot set...or both! I chose the chevron set.

Also, I hung up the curtains at the office that I hemmed this weekend. I can't wait to share photos of them! It was my first time using Heat 'n Bond in this type of project and it went really well.

mmmm...fancy tapes

My love for washi, fabric--and now linen--tape continues! I have a longer post planned for tomorrow, but for now, behold linen tape available for 9 more hours at thePlaidBarn.com.

I am smitten with prints and designs, but there is something about plain linen that is classy and timeless (at least to me it is). I can't wait to stamp t&e on it or write little messages to use for cards and packaging. Check it out while you still can!

I can't get my head around a long-winded post today. So, I will just say that I absolutely enjoyed the packaging and gifts from my packaging exchange partner, Evani. Even a few treats for my dog, Tater Tot, were included. Hooray!
P.S. Now Evani has her post about the gifts I sent her up on her blog, Simply Evani. Check it out!

giveaway and package exchange

First, a giveaway reminder: the last day to enter the giveaway to win one of my fave purses is this Friday, July 27! Don't miss out! Click here to enter...all it requires is for you to leave one comment to enter.

I decided that I will post about the package that I sent off for my package exchange partner. I just realized that I forgot to take photos of what was contained INSIDE the packages--oops! If you take a look at my inspiration post here, I covered a notebook in a fun, bright fabric. I also bought some pretty neat washi tape (who doesn't love this stuff?), which is one of Evani's likes. I also made some bows for her out of yarn and felt (these are packaged in the "thank you" bag). The notebook and washi were wrapped together in a hand-printed fabric and tied with cotton and a name tag that I hand-embroidered.

I am looking forward to receiving my own package in the mail and blogging about that. I'm already looking forward to next year's!

Danni from the lovely blog Oh Hello, Friend is hosting a package exchange amongst those who entered. We each listed a bit about ourselves and she assigned us based on country and somewhat similar interests. We will exchange gifts that are well/fun wrapped. I have been looking through Pinterest (of course) of some ideas and I thought I would share some inspiration with you all:

Christmas in...June?

That's right. It's June. Not even July yet. Time to break out future Christmas decor. Now, the reason I started writing this post is because my lovely Uncle Jeff loves to create crafts and is quite good at them. Also, I received and sent some pretty spectacular gifts since we have arrived home from the Bay Area. The first of which is this purse from Nicole at Pussycat Vintage. Remember when I won a store credit at her shop? Well, this is the purse I picked out! It is a great vintage piece; I especially love the color and the rivets.

It's pretty great, isn't it? I am very happy with it. If you would like to see more items, take a look at Pussycat Vintage's shop before it is closed for a little while under renovations. (Also, if you haven't checked out my guest post over on her blog, take a look here.)

I shipped out another package this week. Someone bought one of my mini chalkboards. I have been playing around with packaging and will probably continue to do so for a while. I try to reuse packaging as much as I can but also play with new bits as well. I had this custom stamp made for my shop and I have loved using it so far!
Now on to my uncle's ornaments. I am always impressed by the ideas with which he comes up. He had asked me which colors and animal I liked and came up with the ornaments below. They are fabulous!
He also had another ornament made, just for our dog Tater Tot. The ornament is so sweet and I cannot wait to hang it on our tree next year.
Have any of you received or sent delightful goodies lately?

This week, I shipped off five of my mini chalkboard frames. I am happy that they found a good home! Above pictures my wrapped mini chalkboards with a vintage paper doily. Below pictures mini chalks tied with ribbon. Thank you for your support!
