weekends with tater
So on Saturday, this thing called "snow" happened again. I was not prepared to see it. Wet, heavy and gloppy, it fell like snowballs to the earth. Very beautiful to watch. Even my beabull Tater was excited to watch it (or to watch the neighbor's dobermans). In any case, it was a surprising and beautiful thing to behold.
weekends with tater
I love how bright my new apartment is during the day. Last week, Tater basked in the sun while looking out one of her favorite windows. She has now settled into the routine of the new place and she will finally go into her crate without me chasing her around the apartment first. It's nice to be in a routine again.
weekends with Tater
Tater got a new nickname this holiday weekend--Captain Tottington. She loved floating around on this raft and refused to get off from it most of the time.
We saw fireworks a couple of times as well. Tater even watched them for a few minutes before laying down. Thankfully, she was not hyped up by them at all and she only barked a couple of times when the grand finale was going.
How was your holiday weekend?

weekends with Tater
Tater helped me find a new place over the past few weeks. This one has a nice, quiet area with plenty of room for Tater walks. Here she is, surveying the side yard and downstairs neighbor happily strumming his guitar. I look forward to being in a home instead of a large apartment building and enjoying a little more quiet. Yes, the commute will be longer to work but at this point, that's something I'm willing to sacrifice.
Now comes the part I like the least--packing! If only Hogwarts were real and I could develop magical powers to instantaneously move all of my items from one home to the next. Alas, this is not so and so I must bear this excruciating task until its completion.

weekends with tater
This weekend, Tate and I stayed at home for the majority of it. I needed to get lots of laundry done and Tate needed to, well, sleep really hard. I realized suddenly last week that I need to give my notice soon if I am moving out of my apartment and that has set forth a frenzy of purging and cleaning the apartment. Amidst all this, I needed a break too and we headed into Boston last weekend to walk around, enjoy the water and the blossoms. These trees were so gorgeous.
When we finally got home, Tater was ready to nestle into the bedcovers. In fact, she slept most of the next day, too.
I hope you all had fabulous weekends.

weekends with tater
This week, Tater received her BarkBox full of tasty goodies and toys. The first thing she demolished was a duck jerky treat.
Now that I have had this new computer for a couple weeks, I have had more time to play around on it. It is much easier and faster to use than my old one and I have enjoyed editing some photos I have taken with it. Case example is of Tater enjoying a duck treat inside the polaroid frame. (Credit for the polaroid frame goes to IROCKSOWHAT. Thanks!)
If you've been following me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I'm also working on some mini chalkboard frames for a wedding coming up. Blue is one of my favorite colors and I have enjoyed working on these little guys.

my hair
Typically, my hair is changed by impulse. It's been a while since I've had one of these impulses, so my hair has stayed relatively the same for the past few years. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been feeling a change and so searched the internet for hairstyle inspiration. I wanted something short and a little daring, but not too salon-y or Anne Hathaway-esque. I ended up with this:
front view
shaved side view
And I love it! The 1/4 head shave part is the part that I love the most. It's fuzzy and easy. The other side I can do whatever I want with and is generally pretty similar to my prior hair style, but shorter. Also, the messier the better which works well with my get-up-and-go-in-the-morning routine.
On the way home, I wondered if Tater would recognize me. Of course she did! She likes having more access to my right ear for licking, too. Hehe. Here she is, holding down the fabric for me while I cut out fabric for a blanket. That stinker!
moooaaaar thanksgiving
Well, I finally finished my Thanksgiving leftovers today. I wanted to share a few more (instagram) photos of my meal plus the two beings that I was lucky enough to spend my time with this weekend.
field roast!
my ryan, eating his t-giving meal
post meal walk
mmmm...cinnamon rolls
waiting desperately for treats while we drank hot cider and coffee
how i know he's home...camera and law books
on our walk
apple pie
Now that Thanksgiving is past, don't forget to sign up for my ornament exchange! I will be assigning partners this coming weekend and I don't want anyone to lose out. Click here to read more about it and sign up. Thanks!
doggy gift exchange
I was so excited to get Tater Tot's doggy gift exchange present this week. The personal touches with her name embroidered on the handkerchief and the plush bone toys are great and she loves the treats too. Oh, and the rope toy is the best because she loves tugging it and it is stretchy.
Thanks for hosting the exchange, Diana!
Tater on Halloween
My coworker invited Tater and me over for Halloween night. We enjoyed a chili dinner and passing candy out to kids of all ages.
Hope you all had a Happy Halloween.
doggy halloween
I spent part of this weekend with Tater at a Doggy Halloween event at a nearby farm. She had a lot of fun smelling all of the dogs and eating treats. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the event:
The bulldog and "sheep" are my favorites. Hehe. Even though Tater did not win in any of the categories, she did have a lot of fun and she won one of the door prizes. She could pick the prize and she chose...a rawhide. Big surprise there!
What did all of you do for the weekend? Any fall activities? Spend time with your companions?
photo challenge:smile
In the summer, it was much easier to capture a photo of Tater Tot smiling while she panted after playing or going for her walk. However, I was able to catch this one of her the other night. She wanted me to throw her kong and sat there waiting for me, panting.
