We had a very busy weekend. I will be writing more posts about the main event this weekend. For now, one small thing that I made that I was very proud of was a pincushion. I had been using a prototype of a stuffed animal that didn't quite work out. I wanted something a little more sophisticated, yet easy to make. Sincerely, Kinsey had made a great one, but I had a hard time finding a tea cup that I liked well enough to make a pincushion out of. As soon as I saw the below pin, I knew that I had found a winner because I could use fabric that I already had.

A while ago I had bought some hand-printed remnant fabric on Etsy from Maramiki. I loved it and had been toying with ideas of what to make (pillows, box bag, clutch, pencil bag, etc) ever since I purchased it. I decided that part of one of the prints I would use for the pincushion DIY above. Here is my result:

I love how it turned out! If I ever make another one, I will probably use a bigger canning jar/lid to accentuate the big poof on top.

That's right. It's June. Not even July yet. Time to break out future Christmas decor. Now, the reason I started writing this post is because my lovely Uncle Jeff loves to create crafts and is quite good at them. Also, I received and sent some pretty spectacular gifts since we have arrived home from the Bay Area. The first of which is this purse from Nicole at Pussycat Vintage. Remember when I won a store credit at her shop? Well, this is the purse I picked out! It is a great vintage piece; I especially love the color and the rivets.

I shipped out another package this week. Someone bought one of my mini chalkboards. I have been playing around with packaging and will probably continue to do so for a while. I try to reuse packaging as much as I can but also play with new bits as well. I had this custom stamp made for my shop and I have loved using it so far!
Now on to my uncle's ornaments. I am always impressed by the ideas with which he comes up. He had asked me which colors and animal I liked and came up with the ornaments below. They are fabulous!
 He also had another ornament made, just for our dog Tater Tot. The ornament is so sweet and I cannot wait to hang it on our tree next year.

P.P.S. There are a couple of prints up for sale, too. Get 'em while they're hot! Ryan printed them in our darkroom this weekend while it rained and stormed outside. Perfect weather for it.

My fave photo from May of my fur baby is this one of Tater Tot, rolling in a local river. It was a hot day and so Ryan let her in a shallow part of the river to cool off. We usually see her roll around on the carpet, so this photo struck me so funny that she had actually rolled around in the water.

It's June 1st! I can hardly believe it. It seems like May just started and as I look over the past month's events it seems like they just happened. Wow. Along with June, I purchased some adspace over at Nicole's blog, Pussy Cat Vintage. Check out my ad in this screen shot in the top right corner. More great things are coming this month while Nicole and I work together. I am looking forward to the rest of the month.


Somehow I get the feeling that I'm going about this ad thing all wrong...making screenshots of other people's blogs and ads and then writing about them when it's actually the other way around. Oh well! It makes me really excited to see my stuff up in other places and so I'll post about it until I get sick of it.
